A shared session is a lovely thing — strangers on a bench, the stove ticking, everyone a little quieter than they were on the walk down. But some days you want the place to yourselves. That’s what private hire is for.
When you book a private session at ROE Wild Saunas, every seat in the sauna is yours for the whole slot. Talk as loudly or as little as you like, set your own rhythm of heat and cold, and take the sea when you’re ready. Our sauna is a wood-fired PortaSauna tent pitched on the sand right next to the water, beside the old North Landing lifeboat slipway — so the cool-down is the bay itself, with the chalk cliffs either side.

Private and shared sessions share the same time slots. As soon as someone books a seat in a shared session, that slot can’t be hired privately — and once a slot is booked privately, it closes to shared bookings. If you have a date in mind, book it early.

How private hire works
From booking to the first round.
Booking takes a couple of minutes on your phone. Everything else happens on the beach.
Pick a private slot
Choose a private session on the timetable. The price is for the whole sauna, not per person.
Pay & confirm
Pay online by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay — or use a gift voucher code at the payment step. As the booker, you confirm your group is fit and well enough to use a sauna.
Arrive ready
Come down the slipway in your swimwear a little before your start time. There are no changing facilities yet.
Briefing, then it’s yours
Everyone gets a short safety briefing. After that, the sauna and the rhythm of heat, cold and rest belong to your group.
Same stove, same sea, same cliffs — only now every seat on the bench is someone you brought.
Private vs shared
When it pays to take the lot.
A seat in a shared session is £12 per person. Private hire is from £70 for the whole sauna. Here’s how that compares for different group sizes, using today’s prices:

From around 6 people, the whole sauna costs about the same as (or less than) booking separate shared seats — and you get it to yourselves. Under that, a private session is a small premium for the quiet.

Changes and cancellations
If we cancel for weather or sea conditions you can rebook or get a full refund. For other changes, contact us at least 24 hours before your session.
Before your group comes
Plan the day, bring the towels.
What everyone should bring
Swimwear, flipflops, water bottle, and towels [2 towels is best, one to sit on in the sauna and one to dry yourself].
It is best to arrive ready for the sauna as we do not currently have changing facilities.
Personal belongings are left at your own risk.
Parking & the walk down
There is a car park and toilets at the top, then a steep walk down to the slipway. [Card only payment required at the car park] Allow time for the whole group to get down together — the slipway is steep and uneven.
Safety for groups
There are no lifeguards at North Landing. Every guest gets a safety briefing, and we can only guide you on your time in the sauna. Going in the sea is optional and at your own risk; when the sea is too rough to safely use the beach, we may retreat up the slipway or cancel. Anyone in your group with a health condition, or who is pregnant, should check with their GP before using a sauna.
Make a day of it

How much does it cost to hire the private sauna at North Landing?
Private hire of the whole wood-fired sauna at North Landing, Flamborough is from £70 per session for up to 8 people, and a session lasts 55 minutes. Shared between a full group of 8, that works out at about £8.75 each. You book and pay online by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay.
Can I hire the whole sauna?
Yes — private hire is for up to 8 people, perfect for birthdays, friends or private relaxation.
How many people can fit in the private sauna?
Private hire at ROE Wild Saunas is for up to 8 people. The price is for the whole sauna, so it’s the same whether there are two of you or 8.
How do I book a private sauna session?
Book online: open the timetable, pick a private session time, pay, and the whole sauna is yours for that slot. Private and shared sessions use the same time slots, so once a shared seat is booked that slot can no longer go private (and the other way round) — book early for the date you want.
Can I use a gift voucher to pay for private sauna hire?
Yes. A ROE Wild Saunas gift voucher is a single-use code worth its value off a booking, including private hire. Enter it as a promotion code on the payment page when you book. Vouchers are valid for 12 months from purchase.
What happens to a private booking if the weather is bad?

Who is responsible for the group on a private booking?
The person who books takes responsibility for the whole group. When booking you confirm that everyone is fit and well enough to use a sauna and understands there are no lifeguards at North Landing. Every guest gets a safety briefing on arrival.
