Choose your session

Two ways into the heat.

Every session is in our wood-fired sauna, pitched on the sand at the foot of the old North Landing lifeboat slipway. The stove does the work; you choose when you go in, how long you stay, and whether you finish in the sea or simply sit in the salt air while the heat leaves you.

How a session works

Your hour by the sea.

You don’t need to have used a sauna before. We’ll walk you through it when you arrive, and after that the session is yours — there’s no timetable inside the session, just the rhythm of hot and cold.

  1. Arrive ready

Come down the slipway in your swimwear a little before your start time, and we’ll give you a short safety briefing.

  2. Heat

Ten to fifteen minutes in the sauna — less on your first round. Sit higher for more heat, lower for less.

  3. Cold

Cool off in the sea air, or walk into the North Sea when conditions allow. The cold is optional; the view isn’t.

  4. Rest & repeat

Sit, breathe, drink some water. Most people do two or three rounds before the session ends.

It’s the oldest kind of wellbeing there is — fire, water and a long view of the sea.

Before you come

What to bring, where to park.

Bring

Swimwear, flipflops, water bottle, and towels [2 towels is best, one to sit on in the sauna and one to dry yourself].

It is best to arrive ready for the sauna as we do not currently have changing facilities.

Personal belongings are left at your own risk.

Parking

There is a car park and toilets at the top, then a steep walk down to the slipway. [Card only payment required at the car park]
